Neste site são apresentadas VirtualBox Machines de muitas distribuições para download. Significa então que você não precisa de esperar para que a instalação decorra. Bastará então fazer download da máquina virtual e depois abri-la com o VirtualBox!

Qual deles o melhor: VirtualBox vs Qemu Alguém aqui já usou Qemu? É que o VirtualBox está a ficar um pouco glutão (mas nota-se mais em Linux, em Windows não se nota tanto!)...

Fiz download do Debian e do PCLinuxOS; o 1º que agora vai na versão 6.0, mas a imagem mais recente e disponível na lista é a versão 5..., e o 2º já com a de 2011 em ação fornece até à de 2009x.
Compreende-se que não viriam as versões mais recentes, talvez (também) porque as versões posteriores a estas já vêm com incrementos que o VirtualBox ainda não roda por falta das necessárias dependências.

De qualquer das formas não encontrei uma forma de abrí-los no VirtualBox! As imagens não eram reconhecidas pelo sistema.

Essa já tenho...
A propósito, atualizei o Vbox para a versão 4x que diferente da 3x já permitiu visualizar (talvez de forma mais direta) o ambiente gráfico do unity. Irei ver então qual a recetividade das outras distros que pretendo.
